[origin: EP1746199A1] Stain- and dirt resistant composition (I) comprises: (a) a first condensation product of hydroxyaromates with formaldehyde, which is free of sulfonic acid and carboxyl groups; (b) a second condensation product of hydroxyaromates with formaldehyde, which is at least partially sulfonated; (c) at least one fluorocarbon compound; (d) at least one foaming agent; (e) water; (f) optionally at least one softener; (g) optionally at least a fluoro surfactant; (h) optionally at least a polymer or oligomer containing blocked isocyanate group; and (i) optionally further additives. Independent claims are included for: (1) the preparation of (I) comprising mixing the components of (a), (b) and (f), optionally (g), (h) and (i), stirring for a desired time in water and subsequently adding (c) and optionally (d); (2) a method of treating carpets to obtain stain resistant characteristics, comprising applying (I) in the context of a foam-co-application on the carpet; and (3) a carpet, obtained by the above method.
