Abstract (en)

[origin: EP1763181A1] The method involves deriving of an interposed device (A1,A2) from the format and the data packet information of the data packet guiding along the route, which determine that interposed device is an interposed device. Interposed device communicates an item of routing information that an upstream device (ED1,LR1) is intended to communicate directly with a downstream device (LR2) downstream of the interposed device. The interposed device also communicates the information (ED1 TIL) of an individual address of the downstream device downstream of interposed device. The interposed device communicates to upstream device and the upstream device moves the route past the interposed device to the downstream device. An independent claim is also included for the network device.
