Abstract (en)
[origin: WO2007031162A1] The invention describes a plastic tamper-evident screw closure (1) for containers and bottles (20), in particular plastic bottles, comprising a screw cap (2), which has a cylindrical casing (3) with an internal thread, and an annular tamper-evident strip (4) which is connected to the free edge of the casing (3) by means of predetermined breaking webs (5) or the like and is equipped with locking elements which are designed to engage in an interlocking manner in a counter bearing (23) which is formed on the neck (21) of a container or bottle. The tamper-evident strip (4) has a smaller outside diameter than the casing (3) of the screw cap (2). The locking elements are formed by bevelled or chamfered undercut regions (8) in the tamper-evident strip (4) which in each case run between two adjacent predetermined breaking webs (5) in the manner of a segment of a ring and extend from a cylindrical inner wall (42), which is relatively long in the axial direction, to an outer wall (41), which is relatively short in the axial direction, of the tamper-evident strip (4).
