[origin: WO2007033755A1] The invention relates to a method for measuring parking spaces (14) by means of a vehicle (2). The vehicle (2) drives past a parking space (14) and emits a signal (20) by means of at least one sensor device (16, 18) and after a signal propagation time, the signal (22) is captured again and reflected into the surroundings. The course of the signal propagation time for measuring the parking space (14) which corresponds to movement of the vehicle (2) is analysed according to at least two of the following types: Sections having very different signal propagation times are detected, sections having essentially constant signal propagation times are detected, sections having essentially constant modifications of the signal propagation times are detected. The invention also relates to a parking system for a motor vehicle, an evaluation unit and a computer program.
