[origin: EP1770216A1] A noise absorbing element (3) for a noise screen (1) comprising a plurality of such elements (3) arranged in an edge-to-edge relationship. The element (3) has a main surface (8) that in its use position is substantially vertical. The element (3) comprises a pliable noise absorbing core material (9) and has as a whole rigidity and strength to withstand normal wind load provided transversely to the main surface (8) of the element (3). The pliable noise absorbing core material (9) constitutes an essential structural part of the noise absorbing element (3). A noise screen (1) comprising a plurality of such noise absorbing elements (3) are also described.
