Abstract (en)
The method involves arranging light sources (7,8) in a housing. A translucent plate carrying the traffic information projecting outside covers the light sources. The different colored light emitting diode (LED) with corresponding currents or voltages are operated as light source for producing particularly regulatory preset tones and intensities, till the prescribed exposure values are reached. An independent claim is also included for a display device for execution of the method.

Eine flächige, innenbeleuchtete Anzeigeeinrichtung für Verkehrsinformationen besitzt in einem Gehäuse (1) angeordnete Lichtquellen (7, 8), die nach außen hin durch eine die Verkehrsinformation (4) tragende durchscheinende Platte (3) abgedeckt sind. Als Lichtquellen sind verschiedenfarbige LED's (8,7) angeordnet, die mit verschiedenen Strömen (Spannungen) betrieben werden. Durch Veränderung der Ströme (Spannungen) werden die erzeugten Mischfarben in einem vorgegebenen Bereich erreicht. Dadurch wird die Herstellung mit handelsüblichen Materialfarben (Plexiglas, LED's) erleichtert.
