[origin: DE102005045921A1] A first wiper arm (12) fitted with a blade (14) and joined to a drive unit (18) is parallel positioned to the lower edge of the windscreen (10) in a resting mode. The second arm (20) is parallel positioned to the first (12) slightly higher on the screen (10) and overlapping with the first (12). When activated the upper arm (20) is first moved to the side (30) of the windscreen (10). The lower arm (12) is moved after a short delay to the opposite side (30) in order to avoid jamming. ETAILED DESCRIPTION - An independent claim is given for a windscreen wiper unit using the method.
