[origin: WO2007038810A1] The invention relates to a girder, especially a transversal (QTR) or longitudinal girder (LTR'), for an undercarriage (UGS) of a rail vehicle (SCH), comprising a top boom (OBG) and a bottom boom (UTG) that are interconnected by means of a connecting element (STE). The transversal girder (QTR) comprises a recess (AUS) for receiving a mounting part (MON), said recess (AUS) being open on the side of the lower boom (UTG) such that the mounting part can be introduced into the recess from this side. An auxiliary bottom boom (HUG) that can be connected to the bottom boom (UTG) is provided in order to close the recess once the mounting part (MON) has been received.
