[origin: DE102005046780A1] The device has a plain old telecommunication system interface (58) outputting data received in an upper frequency range as digital data. Asymmetric digital subscriber line (ADSL)-interface (60) outputs data packets that are received in the upper range. A host (62) transmits the produced user data packets and the data packets received in the upper range to another ADSL-interface (54) that transmits the produced user data packets and the received data packets via a network-sided connection. An independent claim is also included for a method of transmitting telephone data.
