[origin: EP1932958A1] The needle bed (1) of a knitting machine is segmented. The at least two segments (5, 6) have resting surfaces (8, 10) against each other. Cooling channels, formed e.g. in one of the segments (6), run from at least one of these surfaces. The adjacent segment (5) covers these cooling channels, and by this means, closes them.
