[origin: WO2007042203A1] The aim of the invention is to produce a compact ball mill wherein the milling vessel can be installed in a rapid, reliable and simple in the receiving device and the milling cup can be closed by means of a cover and the milling vessel can be secured to the receiving device in such a manner that they can be uncoupled from each other. The inventive ball mill, in particular, planetary or centrifugal force ball mill, having a size which is adapted to the laboratory, comprises a housing (8), a support device (1) which is rotationally mounted about the central axis (15) on the housing (8), at least one receiving device (2) for at least one milling vessel (5) which is rotationally mounted about a receiving axis (25) on the support device (1) and is guided therefrom about the central axis (15), a drive (17) for the support device (1), a drive (27) for the receiving device (2), at least one milling vessel (5) which can be filled with milling balls and which comprises a milling cup (51) and a cover (2) for closing the milling cup in a detachable manner. The milling vessel (5) is maintained in the receiving device (2) in a target position when it is completely installed in the receiving device (2), and the receiving device (2) and the milling vessel (5) comprise holding means (92, 93, 932, 935, 95) which are complimentary to each other in order to detachably secure the milling vessel (5) to the target position in the receiving device (2).
