[origin: WO2007042391A1] The invention relates to a longitudinal folding machine (01), to which a product (02) can be supplied via a delivery route (36, 37) and which is situated downstream of a sensor (18), the latter being configured as a sensor that records the product phase position. The sensor is connected to a drive motor (05) of a folding blade (03) of the folding machine via a control unit (10), said blade being mechanically independent of the drive of the delivery routes (33, 36, 37). The control unit controls the drive motor, taking into consideration the product phase position that has been recorded by the sensor. The drive motion from the drive motor to the folding blade is achieved by means of a cam mechanism (52, 53).
