[origin: DE102005047443A1] The sensor (1) has a solid electrolyte (2) connecting two electrodes (3, 4) in an ion-conducting manner, where the electrodes have similar gas-sensitive base material e.g. gold. The electrode has a high activity with respect to oxidation or reduction of a gas component to be sensed and another electrode has a low activity, where the effect on the activity with respect to oxidation or reduction of the gas component is calibrated at the electrodes by free oxygen present in a measuring gas mixture.
