[origin: EP1935826A1] The system has two support strands (TA, TB) of a support with two ends. Two drive pulleys (13.A1, 13.B1) of a drive are associated with one of the support strands. A third drive pulley (13.A2) and a fourth drive pulley (13.B2) of the drive are associated with the other support strand. A lower elevator car (K1) is suspended in a balanced state at two separate mutually opposite fastening regions. An upper elevator car (K2) is suspended in a common central upper fastening region at two ends of support strands, where two support strands are formed from cables or belts.
