[origin: WO2006114514A1] The invention relates to a protective helmet (1) formed, in part, by a main outer shell (2) having a longitudinal plane of symmetry (P) and of the type comprising retaining and positioning means (11, 12) that permit the helmet to be fixed to the head of a user, said means comprising at least one set of non-rigid front straps (12, 12a, 12b) forming the chin-strap (11) whose two ends (120a, 120b) are fixed to the shell (2) at attachment points (X, Xa, Xb) situated on lateral portions of the corresponding wall (7a, 7b), characterized in that the retaining and positioning means comprise position adjusting means (16) enabling, from the attachment points (X, Xa, Xb) on the shell, the positioning of the ends of the front left and right straps in at least two positions, i.e. a front position (PAV) and a rear position (PAR) and/or a high position (PHA) and a low position (PBA).
