The plug (1) has a metallic housing (3), and a metallic glow pipe (2) partially projecting from the housing. A ceramic heating unit is arranged in an interior (11) of the glow pipe, where the heating unit is directly connected with the glow pipe using a retaining unit (15) and is directly connected with a glow supply line (6) using another retaining unit (16). The interior of the glow pipe is closed in a gas-tight manner, and a victim material is provided in the interior and serves for binding water and/or oxygen, where victim layers are made of the victim material.

Eine Glühstiftkerze (1) dient zur Anordnung in einer Kammer einer Brennkraftmaschine. Die Glühstiftkerze (1) weist ein Gehäuse (3) und ein metallisches Glührohr (2) auf, das teilweise aus dem Gehäuse (3) ragt. In dem Innenraum (11) des Glührohrs (2), der gasdicht abgeschlossen ist, ist ein keramisches Heizelement (18) angeordnet, das einerseits mittels eines ersten Aufnahmeelements (15) mit dem Glührohr (2) und andererseits mittels eines zweiten Aufnahmeelements (16) mit einem metallischen Anschlussbolzen (6) verbunden ist. Ferner ist in dem Innenraum (11) zumindest ein Opfermaterial vorgesehen, das als Opferschicht (23) oder als Opferkorn (30) ausgestaltet sein kann, um Reste von Wasser und/oder Sauerstoff zu binden, die Korrosionsschäden hervorrufen können.
