[origin: WO2007048455A1] The invention relates to a circular-shank tool (30) comprising a shank (31) that is held in the bore (41) of a tool holder (40) by means of a locking sleeve (10), said shank (31) being rotatably held in the locking sleeve (10). The locking sleeve (10) is provided with one or more retaining elements (16, 17, 18) that project inwards and engage in a peripheral groove (39) that is provided in the shank (31) of the tool (30), thus indisplaceably securing the locking sleeve (10) in an axial direction on the shank (31) of the tool. Since the locking sleeve (20) is mirror-symmetrical to the central transversal plane (38), it can be fixed to the shank (31) in a position that has been rotated through 180°.
