Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2007048364A1] The invention relates to a method for operating a mobile terminal in a communication network in which a protocol stack constructed from a communication protocol or from a plurality of communication protocols (L1... L6) is used by the mobile terminal to use at least one service from the communication network, and a decision-making device (11) uses the decision-related event data to ascertain, for the at least one service individually, whether a change actually needs to be made and, if appropriate, to decide, for the at least one service individually, what type of change needs to be made and what communication protocol (e.g. L2) or what communication protocols (e.g. L2, L3) need to be used to make the change, and the change is implemented by the communication protocol in question (e.g. L2) or by the communication protocols in question (e.g. L2, L3). The invention also relates to a mobile terminal and to a network node.
