[origin: EP1944500A2] The fuel injector (1) has a control chamber (2) connected to a high pressure side (5), over whose pressure, the movement of a nozzle needle (3) is controlled. A control valve (6) is provided, which blocks or opens the connection of the control chamber to a low pressure side (7). The control valve has a force compensated control pistons (10) slidingly guided in a bore (9a) of a guiding piece (9) between valve positions, which blocks the connection of a connecting channel (13).
