Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2007042201A2] The aim of the invention is to produce a compact ball mill wherein the mechanical stresses of the milling product is not defined by the structure and the operational parameters can be selected in an wide area. The invention also relates to a ball mill, in particular, a planetary and centrifugal force ball mill, having a size adapted to the laboratory, comprising a housing, a support device (1) which is rotationally mounted about the central axis (15) on the housing, at least one receiving device (2) for at least one milling vessel (5) which is rotationally mounted about a receiving axis (25) in relation to the support device (1) and is guided thereby about the central axis (15), a drive (17) for the support device, a drive (27) for the receiving device, at least one milling vessel (5) which can be filled with milling balls and which comprises a milling cup and a cover for closing the milling cup in a detachable manner. The milling vessel is maintained in the receiving device (2) when it is installed therein, and comprises first and second bearing devices (31, 32) which are used to rotationally mount the receiving device (2) on the support device (1). Said bearing devices (31, 32) are arranged at a distance from each other in an axial manner, such that the centre of gravity of the milling vessel (5) is between the bearing devices (31, 32), and the support device (1) comprises a cover disk (4) wherein one of the bearing devices (31, 32) is lowered.
