Abstract (en)
[origin: FR2890106A1] The procedure, designed to protect a mechanical machine such as a motor vehicle gearbox operating in critical conditions, consists of injecting an additive e.g. a lubricant when a critical threshold is passed. The additive is injected by a gas generator system (G1, G2, G3) triggered, for example, when threshold levels of temperature, speed of rotation, pressure, torque, vibration, time or distance covered are exceeded. The generator itself can be pyrotechnic, and actuated by an igniter.
