Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2007054410A1] On reaching an approach area to a destination airport, the aircraft (F) is provided with up-to-date topographical information (TI) and route information (RI) in addition to a destination position on the ground (ZP). Known wire-free communication technologies, such as (GSM, GPRS, UMTS, Wlan, WiMax) - are used to transmit this information. One advantage of the invention is that the transmitted information can be displayed on a commercially available navigation system on board the aircraft (F) and can be used for navigation on the ground.
