A switching device for switching percussive operation over to the non-percussive operation by an operating device (36), operated from outside. A switching ring (35), which is adjusted between a non-operating position assigned to the percussive operation. An operating position is assigned to the non-percussive operation, which is arranged, in torque-proof and axially sliding manner, outside concentric to the drive shaft. The switching ring is supported on a switching ring support part (37) connected with the drive shaft.
