Abstract (en)
[origin: WO2007042211A1] The invention relates to the formation of edges on gypsum plasterboards and gypsum fibreboards for the construction industry. Gypsum plasterboards and gypsum fibreboards which correspond to the prior art have straight-bevelled butting edges which, when the individual boards are pushed together, frequently break at the overlying edge as a result of the unfavourable lever action there (figure 1). When screws or the like are used for fastening the boards to the building structure through the butt joint, the shape of the butting edge again gives rise to unfavourable lever actions which may now cause the overlying butting edge to break on its upper side (figure 1.2). According to the invention, the butting edges of the boards are designed to have a horizontal central part corresponding to figures 2.1 - 3.2, the result of which is that the lever forces are smaller when the boards are pushed together and the virtually step-like formation of the edge also allows the boards to be pushed together in a substantially breakage-proof manner. Furthermore, when fastening the boards to the building structure, the unfavourable lever forces are greatly reduced on account of the horizontal formation of the central part of the butting edges. The main possible uses of this invention are in dry construction.
