The hydraulic cylinder assembly (1) has at least one cylinder (2) with a sliding rod (3) and an elastomer brake body (4) between them. The brake body (4) is fitted to the rod and the cylinder has at least one recess (15) to be gripped by the brake body in at least one end position (16,17). A ring-shaped projection (18) is at the recess.
