Abstract (en)

[origin: AT502187B1] Method involves accomplishing of first and second working process alternatively, depending on the degree of contamination of the ballast bed (2). In the first working process, an upper layer (34) of the ballast is received by a front, with respect to working direction, clearance apparatus (16) and is supplied to the first conveyer belt unit (27). In parallel with this, the rest of the ballast (25) is received by a rear, with respect to the working direction, clearance apparatus (20) and is supplied to a second conveyer belt unit (29), in order to carry it away for disposal. In second working process, the ballast is received exclusively by the rear clearance apparatus and is diverted for cleaning to the first conveyor belt unit, with the front clearance apparatus being in an out-of-use position. An independent claim is also included for the installation for cleaning of a ballast bed of a track.
