[origin: WO2007059549A1] Rod magazine (15) for a firearm (2), having a shaft (3) for holding cartridges (4, 4') in a stack, and having a feed (6) for feeding the stack to a shaft end (7) which is clasped by magazine lips (8), which hold the top cartridge (4) in the stack back in the shaft direction, but allow its movement approximately transversely with respect to the shaft direction beyond the rod magazine (15), with the shaft (3) being equipped with guide strips (16), which run in the shaft direction, for the shoulders of the cartridges (4, 4'), and with the guide strips (16) projecting beyond the shaft end (7) and into the movement path, which is located in front of the magazine lips (8), of the top cartridge (4).
