Abstract (en)
[origin: EP1953706A1] The system has a sorting machine (20) to sort mail articles (12). A mail article franking machine (10) has a radio frequency identification type optical reader (10A) digitizing a destination address (12B) on the articles. A storage unit (10B) e.g. data base, stores digital images of the address and an identification number (12C) e.g. barcode. A communication unit sends the images to a server (14) of a dealer of the machine (10). An extraction unit extracts the images from determined data associated to the number and automatically controls the machine during reception of the franked articles. An independent claim is also included for a method for automatically controlling a sorting machine.
