Abstract (en)
[origin: EP1953788A1] The device (1) has a disconnection device placed in series with a surge suppressor, where the disconnection device includes electrical contacts (4, 6). The device has an actuating mechanism (7) for actuating opening of the contacts. The suppressor is electrically connected to connection lugs (41, 51) by fusible connections (8, 9). A driving unit (10) e.g. helical spring, exerts displacement force (Fd) for displacing the suppressor in case of fusion of the connections. The displacement of the suppressor acts directly on the actuating mechanism and provokes permanent opening of the contacts.
