[origin: FR2894053A1] The method involves determining a fuel overage, at a given flight point, with respect to prescribed loads according to a flight profile and weather forecasts for flight continuation. Speed of an aircraft is adjusted for a forthcoming flight phase such as a climb phase (1), en-route phase (2) or descent phase (3), such that the fuel overage is increased if the fuel overage is less than a given value.
