Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2007063636A1] The invention provides an electrical connector achieving a reduced overall height and being capable of preventing an oblique fitting of a plug and a receptacle connector. The plug connector 20 includes contacts 24 and a block 22. The contacts are arranged on both sides of the block to be opposite to each other in the width direction, and the block 22 is formed at longitudinal ends with projection walls 32 higher than upper surfaces 38 of the contacts 24 and provided between the opposite contacts 24 with anchoring recess 34 engaging receptacle connector 50. The receptacle connector 50 includes contacts 54 and a housing 52. The contacts 54 are arranged on both sides of the block to be opposite to each other in the width direction, and the housing 52 is provided with engaging protrusions 64 engaging the anchoring recess 34 and at longitudinal ends with protrusion walls 68 higher than upper surfaces 70 of elastic portions of the contacts 54 and engaging grooves 66 for receiving the projection walls 32. The housing is further provided between the contacts longitudinally arranged with side walls A 69 higher than upper surfaces 70 of elastic portions of the contacts and with side walls B 71 continuous with the side walls A 69 and higher than upper surfaces 73 of contact portions of the contacts.
