Abstract (en)

[origin: EP1955787A1] The method involves plastically deforming a thin metal strip in bar zones (R) under a tensile strength in an area or within an elastic limit. The metal strip is sectionally heated and/or cooled within the bar zones for adjusting an inhomogeneous temperature distribution over a bandwidth. The metal strip is heated and/or cooled in the bar zones for adjusting a homogenous temperature distribution over the bandwidth. The temperature distribution within the bar zones is measured, and the adjustment of temperature profiles is controlled depending on the measurement. An independent claim is also included for a system for straightening a thin metal strip.
