Abstract (en)
[origin: WO2007067405A1] Flame resistant, ballistic resistant composite fabrics are provided. More particularly, structures are formed from a material having excellent flame and ballistic resistance. The fabrics and structures incorporate a non-halogen containing charring flame retardant that is preferably intumescent, whereby the material being charred forms a char foam, providing an insulating barrier when exposed to heat. While adding flame retardance, the fabrics and structures retain the excellent optimum ballistic resistant properties of the original material.
