Abstract (en)
The engine (1) has a cylinder head housing (3) made of aluminum alloy, and a bank of cylinders arranged along planes (Z, Y), where each cylinder is equipped with an air inlet conduit. The conduit is supplied by an air intake distributor (90) comprising a plenum chamber, where the conduit and the chamber are integrated in the housing. An elliptical inlet (91) of the distributor is placed perpendicular to the plane and forms a single opening on a surface of the inlet which is centered according to a height and width of the distributor. An independent claim is also included for a method for fabricating an internal combustion engine.

Moteur à combustion interne (1) comportant un banc de cylindres disposés selon un plan (Z,Y), et un carter de culasse (3), chaque cylindre étant pourvu d'au moins un conduit d'admission d'air (93), lesdits conduits d'admission (93) étant alimentés par un répartiteur d'admission d'air (90) comportant une chambre de répartition d'air (92), la chambre de répartition d'air (92) et les conduits d'admission étant intégrés de fonderie dans le carter de culasse, caractérisé en ce que l'entrée (91) du répartiteur est perpendiculaire au plan (Z,Y) et constitue l'unique ouverture sur la face d'entrée du répartiteur.
