[origin: WO2007065524A1] The invention relates to compounds of formula (I) in which X, Y and Z stand for O, NH or N-alkyl, Sp, Sp' and Sp" can be alike or different and stand for -H, -(CH<SUB>2</SUB>)<SUB>n</SUB>-, -(CH<SUB>2</SUB>)<SUB>n</SUB>-C(=O)-(CH<SUB>2</SUB>)<SUB>o</SUB>- or -(CH<SUB>2</SUB>)<SUB>n</SUB>-C(=O)-(CH<SUB>2</SUB>)<SUB>o</SUB>-X-(CH<SUB>2</SUB>)<SUB>p</SUB>-, n, o, p and q stand for a whole number selected independently of one another from the range beginning with 0 and ending with 40, and A, A' and A" stand for a substituent which absorbs UV radiation and has a conjugated p electron system of at least 4p electrons, it being possible for A, A' and A" in turn to be substituted by one or more groups -Sp-X-CH<SUB>2</SUB>-C(=O)-CH<SUB>2</SUB>-OH and to be alike or different, and A, A' and A" being absent from the positions at which Sp, Sp' or Sp" is H; preparations which comprise such compounds; and their use.
