[origin: DE102005058898B3] A closing door for a washing machine or drier comprises a single axle hinge connected to a housing (1) giving a large opening angle and sinking into a front wall recess (19) on closing to give a planar front surface of housing and door. A door-side hinge part (12) between front and rear door shells (17,18) is held in a recess (9) and comprises two edge sections (20) in the corresponding breaks in the rear shell and the pedestal (15). The breaks serve to receive the hinge connections.
