Abstract (en)
[origin: EP1961905A2] The hollow section (1) has a fire protection insert, which is provided for the extension of a service life of the hollow section in the case of fire. The protection insert exhibits layers (7, 8, 9) that are made of different fire protection materials, where the layers exhibit different thicknesses and are chemically or mechanically connected with one another. A hollow section wall (5) is provided such that the protection insert rests directly against the hollow section wall. The hollow section is made of metal, preferably aluminum. An independent claim is also included for a hollow section arrangement.
