Abstract (en)
The present invention relates to a dielectric multimode resonator that comprises walls (2) enclosing a resonator cavity (3), and a resonator element (4, 4', 4") made of dielectric material and disposed in the resonator cavity (3). The resonator element (4, 4', 4'') comprises a plurality of at least three leg portions (8, 8'', 8a, 8b) extending towards the walls (2) and an annularly closed portion (5, 5') circumscribing an opening (7) and disposed spaced from the walls (2). The leg portions (8, 8", 8a, 8b) form projections extending from the annularly closed portion (5, 5') from different locations spaced in the circumferential direction of the annularly closed portion (5, 5'), such that each two adjacent leg portions (8, 8'', 8a, 8b) are separated in the circumferential direction by a section of the annularly closed portion (5, 5').
