Abstract (en)
[origin: EP1962565A1] The ballast (1) has half bridge inverters (4, 8) provided with a frequency-control input (17), and a line circuit (26) e.g. mechanical single-pole switch, for activating or deactivating a resonance capacitor (25). An evaluating circuit (18) detects activation or deactivation of the resonance capacitor and influences the frequency-control input. The inverters are operated with operating frequencies and switched between the operating frequencies. The line circuit switches the inverters from one operating frequency to another operating frequency.
