[origin: EP1797985A1] The method for welding components, comprises supplying welding additive material to a position (10) of a component to be repaired so that crack in the component is filled. The position to be repaired has a starting point at which the welding process begins on a separate initializing plate that adjoins at the starting point, and an ending point at which the process ends on a separate finalizing plate that adjoins at the ending point. The initializing plate is shifted during the process in a welding direction and at the same time shields the pre-existing welding area. An independent claim is included for a device for welding components.
