Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2007071502A1] The invention relates to a method for metering fuels to at least one combustion chamber of an internal combustion engine (10) with at least one pilot injection and a main injection per combustion process. According to said method, combustion features (VM_B) are detected and an effect of an amount of fuel injected before the main injection is determined from the combustion features (VM_B). The method is characterized in that an actual value (VM_VE12_ist) of a cumulative effect is determined for at least two pilot injections per combustion process and the actual value (VM_VE_12 ist) is controlled to a desired value by intervention (d_AD) in at least one of the pilot injections. The invention also relates to a control device (24) which carries out the method.
