Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2007068671A1] The invention relates to a method for transmitting multimedia data (7, 9) in MPEG format between multimedia stations (3, 4, 10, 11) of a communication system (1) via at least one communication link (2) of the communication system (1). In order to render transmission of the multimedia data as efficient as possible while being able to reduce the number of different communication systems in a vehicle, the MPEG multimedia data (7, 9) is transmitted according to the FlexRay protocol via a FlexRay communication system (1). For this purpose, the size of user data segments of FlexRay data frames (15) is preferably adjusted to the size of MPEG data frames (7, 9). Preferably, the user data segment of a FlexRay data frame (15) is selected in the same size as in MPEG data frames (7, 9), especially 188 bytes.
