A method for preventing corrosion in storage tanks, pipelines and fuel supply systems in motor vehicles which are in contact with fuel, involves adding to the fuel small amounts of derivative(s) of polyisobutylsuccinic anhydride (I) with at least one prim. or sec. amino group, imino group and/or hydroxyl group.

Schutz von Lagerbehältern, Leitungen und Kraftstoffzuführungsvorrichtungen in Verbrennungsmotoren, die im Kontakt mit Kraftstoff stehen, vor Korrosion, indem man dem Kraftstoff geringe Mengen mindestens eines Derivates eines Polyisobutylbernsteinsäureanhydrids, welches wenigstens eine primäre oder sekundäre Aminogruppe, eine Iminogruppe und/oder eine Hydroxylgruppe aufweist, zusetzt.
