Abstract (en)

[origin: EP1967636A1] A household clothes washing machine comprises a rotating drum (1), a spider member (2) integrally supporting said rotating drum, a rotating shaft integrally joined to said spider member so as to cause it to rotate, an outer drum, or tub (4), adapted to accommodate said rotating drum and the spider member integrally associated thereto, said tub being further provided with an aperture for the rotating shaft to be able to pass therethrough, wherein said rotating shaft is provided in the form of an internally hollow tube member and the spider member (2) of the rotating drum is made of a die-cast alloy provided so as to incorporate the inner terminal head of the hollow shaft. The inner terminal head of the hollow shaft is provided with at least one through-aperture establishing a passage from the outside to the inner cavity of said hollow shaft, whereas a part of the solid portion of die-cast alloy closes into a closed-loop configuration between the inner surface of the shaft cavity (20) and the corresponding outer surface thereof by passing through said at least one through-aperture.
