[origin: EP1968022A2] The vending machine (1) comprises an adjustable price marking with multiple merchandise compartments (2) arranged within the vending machine. The merchandise compartments receive the merchandise products and multiple product display elements for displaying the merchandise products on offer. The merchandise compartments and the product display elements are assigned a controlled electronic display elements (3) for indicating the electronically changed merchandise price of a merchandise arranged in the merchandise compartments or to display the display elements of the merchandise on offer. An independent claim is also included for a method for operating a vending machine.
