Abstract (en)
[origin: WO2007071814A1] The invention relates to a cutting and splitting device for cutting and splitting tree trunks, the cutting and splitting device including a cutting tool and a splitting tool. According to the invention, the cutting tool includes two supporting frames (1) at a distance from one another, as well as in a slot between them, a plate-like blade flange (2) having a thickness equal to said distance. In addition, the blade flange has been bearing-mounted (3) in the supporting frames so as to turn back and forth in the slot, and the blade flange extends outside the supporting frames thereby forming a lever structure (4) , to which the hydraulic cylinder (5) that turns the blade flange is coupled. Further, the supporting frames include a trunk feed opening (6) extending through them, and the blade flange includes a blade edge (7) having at least the length of the diameter of the trunk feed opening, the blade edge being arranged to pass through the trunk feed opening, when turning the blade flange, to cut a trunk that has been fed into the trunk feed opening.
