[origin: EP1969967A2] The furniture board (10) has a carrier plate and two top layers (30) that are unilaterally or bilaterally attached to the carrier plate. The carrier plate has two plate-shaped layers that consist of metal or fiber material or both. The carrier plate has a core (22) that consists of solid wood and is located between these two layers. The plate-shaped layers consist of one of the metals such as aluminum, high-grade steel, brass, copper or titanium or a combination of these metals. The fiber material consists of glass fiber, carbon fiber, plastic fiber, basalt fiber priming or epoxy resin prepeg. An independent claim is also included for a furniture piece or a functional element.
