[origin: WO2007034311A2] The present invention relates to a support member for improving the recumbent position on a mattress, comprising: - a three-dimensional crochet or knitted structure comprising an upper air-permeable layer, a lower air- permeable layer and a connecting layer which is built up of a plurality of connecting filaments extending between the upper and lower layers, - a cover layer comprising textile which can also be used to attach the top mattress in removable manner to a mattress, and - coupling means for coupling the cover layer to the three-dimensional structure, and to a baby or child's mattress comprising a support member for improving the recumbent position, comprising at least one three- dimensional crochet or knitted structure comprising an upper air-permeable layer, a lower air-permeable layer and a connecting layer which is built up of a plurality of connecting filaments extending between the upper and lower layers, this three-dimensional structure being arranged inside the mattress cover of the mattress.
