Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2007079968A2] Method designed for the treatment of urban solid waste which comprises the following steps: introducing the waste to be treated into a tubular body the lateral walls whereof are equipped with multiple perforations; and subjecting the assembly formed by the tubular body and the waste introduced therein to a gas working environment at a pressure above 4 bar and a temperature between 115 °C and 200°C, for at least 15 minutes, and, simultaneously, rotating the tubular body around its longitudinal axis in order to mechanically agitate the introduced waste, with the liquids released thereby flowing to the exterior of the tubular body through the perforations in the lateral walls. A device to perform said method comprises a rotating cylindrical tubular body located in the interior of a fixed pressure tank, which is adapted so as to collect the liquids released by the waste.
