The heating burner according to the invention comprises a control device which controls its actuators, namely an ignition device for igniting the fuel, an air-delivery device for delivering combustion air and a fuel-delivery device for delivering fuel to the ignition device, in such a way that the fuel is ignited at periodically recurring ignition intervals and burns for an adjustable combustion interval, wherein the heating capacity can be regulated at the respective interval for the length of the combustion interval by the control device.
